M7 transportation services are provided throughout our entire community.
We embrace a model of social entrepreneurship in which we aim to tackle some of society’s most serious issues by collaborating with other mission-minded organizations.
Partnering with The Governor’s Prevention Partnership, a non-profit public-private alliance co-chaired by Governor M. Jodi Rell, we are using the URide Safe® Card to address student safety, 24/7, at the state’s academic institutions.
Students arriving for fall classes at the University of New Haven (UNH) will be the first in Connecticut to take part in the pioneering URide Safe® program to ensure college students always have access to safe transportation, whether they are heading out for a night on the town, running errands or needing a ride back to campus any time of the day or night.
In partnership with M7 and The Governor’s Prevention Partnership, UNH is offering students the University Ride (URide Safe® Card), a personal debit card that can be used in any M7 throughout Connecticut. The objective is to help ensure that students have safe, dependable transportation, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The URide Safe® account can be easily accessed online through this website.
Students or parents can then add money to the account and also receive a detailed ride log to keep track of their spending and mileage.
UNH administrators recognize that the URide® offers parents and guardians the gift of peace of mind. Parents, guardians and school officials can rest assured that students have pre-paid transportation and accessibility to a professional designated driver at all times. At the University of New Haven, the URide Safe® Card will complement the shuttle and transportation services already offered there.
M7’s URide Safe® Card may be customized for any college, university or academic institution. Like UNH’s personalized debit card, it will bear The Governor’s Prevention Partner logo to reinforce the objective of keeping our youth safe. The Partnership knows from experience working with college campuses around the state, that when the community gets involved, students are more likely to make responsible choices.
